The Scene Exit's mélange of black leather, PVC and latex spankings recall Chicago's industrial heyday when Wax Trax had cachet. Brimful of Armageddon accessories and gothic decor, Exit's main level includes an extensive bar, pool table, and vintage motorcycles bolted to the ground. Listen to some hardcore or watch it on the monitors (i.e. '40s and '50s porn). Upstairs is the venue's caged dance floor, small, but equipped with a second bar and a fog machine that casts a gentle menace to the mood. The crowd may be intimidating, but talk to the bartenders and you'll realize just how nice the denizens are.
The Moves The most popular weeknight at Exit, two years going on strong, is Punk Rock Mondays, featuring $2 pints of Guinness. DJs spin classics (old-school punk, industrial, nu-metal, new wave and rock 'n' roll) from their own collections of 45s, LPs and CDs. Thursday night is Bondage Night, featuring DJ Pascal on the tables.
