I am a writer, researcher, and editor living in New York City. I am also a wife, mother of twins, and co-founder and owner of OddFellows Ice Cream Company.
My areas of interest include international relations, global trends and cultural shifts around the world, food and travel, social entrepreneurship, martial arts and wellness. I love learning from local trendsetters and innovative organizations and sharing stories of social change. My writing and research have appeared in print, broadcast, and online media. I have worked as a reporter in Taiwan, a research analyst in Kosovo, a media liaison at a DC think tank, and an international flight attendant based in Chicago. My first job out of college was writing obituaries. (Suffice it to say, it was a dead-end job.)
I studied German at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (Munich, Germany) and Mandarin Chinese at National Taiwan Normal University (Taipei, Taiwan). I am a graduate of Northwestern University (BS in Journalism), the University of Chicago (MA in Social Science) and the New School in New York City (MS in International Affairs).
